Red Willow She Bends is based on a short poem by Leah Dorian. The main melody from the song uses the dorian mode, a minor sounding collection of notes (the sound you get when you play the white notes from from D to D on a piano.) The violin and the cello represent the voice of Red Willow as she sings, dances, and opens her heart to the winds.
